We had a wonderful, fun and very relaxing Thanksgiving! We headed down to McAllen to visit Papa and Nona Lisa and stayed in Mr. Mark's (Nona Lisa's brother) lake house which was gorgeous! We quickly made ourselves at home and Matt fished morning, day and night! Matt caught at least 9 fish, maybe more. I've never seen him so calm for so long. I like the picture in his pj's sitting on the pier bright and early in the morning. And of all the fishing poles we had, it was the lucky batman fishing pole that caught all the fish!!
Marlie and I fished a little bit and then found this nice hammock to snuggle in!
Thanksgiving day was great with lots of great food, family and of course football! Marlie and I layed on the couch together and watched the entire Macy's Parade. Matt couldn't wait to play football and organized a game in the backyard with all the adults. He had a blast!!! I played a little too...quarterback of course...and was 3 for 3. 3 passes, 3 interceptions!! Marlie cheered for us on the sidelines!
We went to visit the Butterfly Garden which was amazing. It was all outdoors with tons of butterflies free to come and go as they please! Marlie liked getting close enough to try and touch them.
Thank you to all our family in McAllen for such a wonderful Thanksgiving. Marlie cried hard when we left. We wish Papa and Nona Lisa lived closer!
Doug and I enjoyed attending the Thanksgiving Feasts at the kid's schools. They worked really hard on their outfits and were so proud! Take a look at these turkeys...
We have so much to be thankful for and there's not a day that goes by that we forget that. To have each other is beyond great, but to have wonderful family and friends is icing on the cake! May God Bless us all!!
