I never see the changes in my kids until I take the annual "first day of school" picture. This one seemed to hit me hard for some reason. They are growing up fast and we finally have one that lost enough baby teeth to get braces!
Matt will be an 8th grader and Marlie a 7th grader at Woodcreek Middle School. Thankfully the cheerleaders were told to wear their uniforms on the first day because Marlie insisted she didn't want any new clothes for school. Should be interesting since she's grown a ton and nothing she has will fit! Ha! I love that Matt chose to wear his "Faith Base" baseball shirt. Love these two and so excited about the school year!

WMS Cheer Camp
We had some big decisions to make at the end of the school year. WMS Cheer Camp was at the same time as dance Nationals and Marlie was told if she didn't attend cheer camp she wouldn't be able to cheer for the year. After a lot of prayer we decided it was important to be involved in school and so she missed dance Nationals which was HARD!!!
So as you can imagine I was so nervous about camp. Giving up not going to Nationals was huge and I prayed Marlie would have a great week at camp with her coaches and friends and that she'd learn a lot. Thankfully it all went really well and she had a wonderful week!
The girls did a private cheer camp this year with West Lake Middle School at Woodlands Elite. This is an elite cheer training gym not far from our house and Marlie has taken a tumbling class here once a week for a few years. She was excited that WMS was coached mostly by Coach Chris and his wife Courtney. She's taken tumbling with Coach Chris and she loves him.
Day 1 - The gym owner, Coach Michael greeted me when I walked in. He said "we finally got to see Marlie dance!" They have been trying to talk Marlie into cheering for years but she always politely says no because she dances. He said she won the dance off. The best is that I got to hear the story from all of her sweet friends on the way home. They were so excited for her.
Day 2 the girls came home excited about stunting! It was great to be on a cheer floor with coaches who could teach them how to stunt. I came at the end to find Marlie and Lauren doing a tumbling pass together which was toe touch, back handspring, back handspring x 4. The best part was the big hug at the end of the tumbling pass. Marlie was excited that she received a tumbling award.
Last day we got to come and watch the girls perform. They looked amazing! They gave awards out for All Around Cheerleader and Marlie got picked from WMS! She was super excited. It was a great week at camp! The girls wished they had one more day!
I love this Quad Squad above: McKinley, Maylen, Marlie & Lauren. These girls have been friends for a long time and Marlie is thrilled that they are all cheering together!
After the last day of camp it was time to chill and hang out at the pool! The girls were exhausted but had a great time! Thank you Michelle for hosting. Looking forward to watching these girls this year. They are so talented and I'm excited about all the friendships that will be made.

Camp ChoYeh
The kids both wanted to go back to ChoYeh this summer but it gets hard as they get older. Their summers are pretty full with activities and they want to go with friends but it's hard coordinating with friend's schedules too. So Marlie went the first week of June with Lauren and Matt was excited to take Corey with him during the 3rd week of June for Corey's first summer camp!
The girls had a wonderful time. They loved their counselors and this is the first year they've really bonded with all the girls in their cabin. Since it was the first week it wasn't too crowded yet. Marlie ran into a friend from HSMT and saw several other kids from WMS.
Matt was so happy that Corey went with him to camp. Corey was a little nervous but he's super social and didn't have any problem. We didn't see too many pictures of them throughout the week but probably because they hid from the camera! It was funny to hear their stories when we picked the boys up. This week of camp was completely full and there were 17, 13 year old boys in one cabin. Apparently it was pretty crazy and one of the counselors admitted to it at pick up. I'm not sure I'd want to be with that many boys in one cabin for the week.
Kids are looking forward to going back next year! Hopefully our schedules won't be so crazy!!

We saw so many great pictures posted throughout the week!
I don't think these girls were ready to go home when we came to pick them up. Such a great group! Apparently there was an inside joke about shouting chicken strips while your shirt was half way over your head?!?!?! Marlie was awarded the Faithfulness award again this year. Her counselor said she loved how knowledgeable Marlie was about the bible. Praise God!Matt was so happy that Corey went with him to camp. Marlie turns 12!
Marlie turned 12 on June 11th! For her birthday I surprised her with tickets to see Aladdin and she brought her sweet friend Maya with her. We loved the show, especially the genie!
She had a few friends over to hang out and swim. I love these sweet girls. They know Marlie so well that 2 of them actually bought Marlie the same gift!

NJHS Ceremony
So excited that both Matt and Marlie were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this year. We love our activities but school is always a priority in the Maziur house. Thankful that they've been able to keep up their grades and be good leaders in school while dancing, playing music and doing sports!

C2 Baseball in Full Swing!
Our baseball team is in full swing this spring and absolutely killing it! They are ranked top in state and only have a few losses. They have started playing up in the 14U division and are still doing well. I love this team. The coaches and the kids. They fight hard and manage to pull off wins even when they're down. They've won 3 tournaments already!
My favorite was this first one before spring break. The boys froze in the cold and rain. They played 4 games and made it to the championship game. Extra innings, down by 2, 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd. Matt is up to bat and hits a ball right over the 2nd basemans head to win the game. It was so fun. The boys were exhausted but managed the best dog pile. This was a hard earned win! Matt got to bring home the championship belt!

Boys got to enjoy and ATM baseball game before their games at Franklin Ranch.
This was just this weekend. 14U tournament in LaPorte. Started Sundays first game going into extra innings and won. In the 2nd game they were down 6-1 and came back to win in the last inning. Championship game down 3-1 in the last inning and came back to win 7-3!Wednesday, April 24, 2019
WMS Spring Sports Banquet
The booster club does a great job putting together celebrations for our teams and the Spring Sports Banquet was another great night.
Basketball, track and cheer teams were honored. Matt's basketball team went undefeated in district. The 7th grade boys track team won the district meet too! Matt received Offensive Player of the Year for basketball!

Corey, Matt & T!
These are my Matts! I love when they're playing together on the court and I can cheer for the Matts! Defensive and Offensive Players of the year!
Taeveon got MVP for the season!
The boys loved having Coach Barnes as their coach. He did a great job teaching them to play the game, getting as many kids as much playing time as possible and also making them work hard! Everyone hopes they circle up with the boys next year.
